I may be a bit late on this but I happened across this really great duo by the name of Lazer Sword via XLR8R TV. This isn’t purely original material as it is remixes/mashups of common big name hip-hop tracks using indie rock and electro acts. The end result is simply jaw-dropping and almost hallucinogenic at times. Very heavy editing, stitching and their own ideas makes the end product sound as though it is entirely original. From the creator:
“Based on the lyric (and alternate title) “Big Ideas: Don’t get any” I grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they’re trying their best to do something that they’re not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there.
It doesn’t sound great, as it’s not supposed to. ”

The original track is nice, thick broken doom breakbeat electronics while the (preferred) remix squeezes the sounds into a more coherent, extremely infectious electro-pop instrumental.
You must supply an email address to download these free tracks but who’s to say it has to be real?
Fresh from Painful Convictions comes 21 tracks of fresh and new fan-made remixes of Nine Inch Nails. Amature shit you say? Yeah, but good shit is smeared all over this collection. Not typical fan-made fiddlings here as the original, individual tracks for all songs on Year Zero were and still are allowed for public consumption and use. Brilliant. Visit for streams of each song and a torrent of the entire lot.
