post mp3: skinny puppy - ‘elements (unreleased)’

October 12th, 2008

Filed under: electronic, experimental, idm, industrial — admin @ 12:33 pm

The unofficial Skinny Puppy site Litany, particularly the forum, has shined a light on a track from Skinny Puppy that may or may not have been meant to be on the SP-but-disappointing album The Greater Wrong of the Right titled ‘Elements’. This track was ripped and stitched from an interview w/ Omar Torres and is certainly jaw-dropping. It truly is something so forward thinking and dark, intense and dramatic… THIS should have been the feel of the latest album. I am certainly holding my breath for the latest album to be released, well, whenever.

I always thought many hip-hop albums should come with an instrumental version… Puppy is getting close - Sorry, but the vocals seldom match the sound in it’s ‘flow’ anymore… and I LOVE Ogre’s voice.

It’s time to really wow me on this level, Puppy.

yeah, really quiet (as usual?) around these parts but I had to log in and mention that Nine Inch Nails surprised us today by dropping a new album titled ‘Ghosts I - V’

The site is currently jacked up due to such high traffic so give it a day or so before you run over there. The album is available in multiple formats ranging from free to a $300 motherload of goodies.

Now, if I could only get my copy…

post mp3: age.is.polis - ‘i am part of the economy’

Filed under: electronic, industrial, mefi music, plunderphonics — admin @ 10:53 pm

I’ve been a longtime reader of MefiMusic, a place where amatures post their tracks for criticism and general tearing-apart, and have occasionally been impressed by what I hear. Thus begins a new category simply titled mefi music.

First pick? How about

age.is.polis - ‘i am part of the economy’

- a very abrasive, short, simple yet addictive track by someone claiming to be from ‘the island’ that summons a bit of Negativland and old school post-industrial. Browse mefimusic for other tracks by this artist (I have yet to do so but I see at least 36 other songs up for grabs)

post news: cranes re-releases

September 9th, 2007

Filed under: goth, industrial, news, rock — admin @ 7:37 pm

great news today

Both Wings of Joys and Forever are getting a re-release, both featuring rare tracks for those that didn’t get the chance to nab them on the initial run. The bonus tracks are from various promos that were given out by Cranes during the initials releases and/or where ‘b-sides’ to the singles of both albums (I will never part with my original 12″s, ever).  Both discs are classic psuedo-goth, ethereal, post-industrial gems that have held up very, very well against time.   Visit here for full mp3s from each album (yeah, they are hip to the whole free-music thing… at least a ‘lil)

‘Adrift’ from Forever is still one of the most brutal and shredding songs I can think of… and its lead by a woman. Perfect. Pure.

post album: nine inch nails - ‘limitless potential’

limitless potential

Fresh from Painful Convictions comes 21 tracks of fresh and new fan-made remixes of Nine Inch Nails. Amature shit you say? Yeah, but good shit is smeared all over this collection. Not typical fan-made fiddlings here as the original, individual tracks for all songs on Year Zero were and still are allowed for public consumption and use. Brilliant. Visit for streams of each song and a torrent of the entire lot.
