This is a remixed track from the just released Hot Chip EP ‘We’re Looking For A Lot Of Love’. This remix itself doesn’t add much new sonically to the original track though it does provide a bit more of an improvised, live sound to the original mopey beauty that is featured on the album ‘Made In The Dark’. Download the track by visiting this link and be sure to get the entire EP here.
Vid from a recent discovery (for me, at least) by Head Like A Kite. Makes me think of early Beck and Folk Implosion. Good stuff - latest album to be released sometime this summer,
An ‘exclusive’ new video one of my faves Animal Collective. This is the track ‘Water Curses’ from the upcoming EP of the same name. Abstract, pixelated goodness.
To download the 128k mp3 you must ‘register’ but doing so also enters you into a drawing to win the new album on all formats. At this point I am willing to do what I have to to hear anything from the new album - not a bad trade off.
The song? it’s no ‘Shake a Fist‘ but it’s a good listen. Please do.
This semi-sub:mission from Robert on Pownce.com comes this track of… strangegood. It’s got electronics, post-punk, new-wave and some classic we-are-too-cool-for-you-to-understand-ness
yeah, hyphens are the new mullet. submit.
If the track name doesn’t grab you, the band name will.
In case you havent seen it yet…The first time I saw this video I was almost in tears… made what I originally thought to be a bland song into a very raw statement. I knew the lyrics, but the subtle visuals really made this song one of my faves on the Sound of Silver. Enjoy.
found on: “Only I Can Save You” on Prix Fixe Records file under: Indietronic, Pop refer to:Dntel, Elvis Costello additional: Submitted from the artist himself.
I found it rather amusing that reviews of his work also referred to Dntel and Costello as similar artists because there is simply no other way to put it.
I chose this track as the one to highlight because it shows Todds ability to bring together sounds and ideas into one space and to have it all come together without sounding contrived or stale (and this isn’t due to the fact that it is well produced).
Imagine the sound of a chrome covered spaghetti western dipped in bleach and you might be close. Or not.
Great lyrics, great hook and just a little bit of necessary grit makes for a damn fine download.
