NoiseAddicts just posted a nice entry about visual art made by iri5 using audio tape as a medium. Fantastic work! See below for his view of Ian Curtis of Joy Division and skip over to NA’s original post for more goodies.

Really interesting find today. Into Infinity is, as they put it:
“Explore the wide possibilities of forever! INTO INFINITY is an art and music exhibition presented by DUBLAB and Creative Commons. It is built on audio loops and circular canvases that are available online to the public for sharing, remixing, and resubmission.”
The ‘Eye’ section is here, and my fave the ‘Ear’ section is here. Artists include dntel, Flying Lotus and Braken among many, many others.
I am particularly fond of this project as it reminds me of an experiment titled “Unbalanced” I did a few years back in memory of Coil’s Jhonn Balance. The idea was to make two cd’s of faded loops and textures to be played randomly on two separate devises… think Flaming Lip’s Zaireeka but much more random and much less professional. Maybe I’ll dig up the project and post it here at some point.

Gasp! How in the hell did I not know about Bansky visiting NoLa for the third anniversary of Katrina until just now?!
Finally I will be able to see his work firsthand, that is, unless the gray ghost gets there first…
here is a flickr pool of the same works
*sigh*
