 *heretic holding bela*
here in new orleans its unheard off to have screens on your windows thus causing a need for flypaper and swatters. well, last night, xero gets up and goes to the kitchen to find our boy all tangled in flypaper. yes, he is a very long-haired feline and sheds enough for 4 cats as it is. if youve ever seen this shit (flypaper) then you know how nasty it is. the mental pic you may have is accurate, im certain. needless to say, bela has a new choppy-as-hell haircut as his reward for being such a poopsnot. meow.

what is about live music that makes me want to fuck?
ok, i warn this isnt exactly in order and full of my trademark bad grammer and typos but hey, theres alot to be said and i dont feel like being obsessive over stupid shit like COMMUNICATION.
hmmm
we managed to loose our tickets and everything seemed to be goin wrong all day, completely absurd. as a last resort we had to purchase new tix at the last minute, just as they were 10 away from selling out. after a lil’ pre-sow preperation we finally made it to the venue. we arrived about with about four songs left in Tweaker’s set. the stage was huge and the atmosphere was VERY alive. you could just see the anticipation flowing from everyone. we all knew we felt like elite bastards but would never admit it.
we hadnt realized we had missed Otto Von Schirach’s set until puppy was about to go on. i wasnt too happy about this as this was one of few shows he was going to play. grr, maybe next time.
as mentioned before we had missed a good portion of Tweaker but i was highly impressed by their work. it was very sleazy, dirtyguitardrenchedsynthrockout but very original. the drummering was paricularly insane. not much else to say as i dont know the band too well, yet.
i had to melt into the crowd and find my way to the bar(s) as i was getting antsy and needed another drink. puppy took the stage about ten minutes after my return to the floor (yeah, evidently it takes about 20-25 minutes to get a drink at the house of blues, maybe its a weeding-out process, i dont know. it was very annoying) but got to cath some of “Baraka” as scored by the Subconscious team (seeing the burning oilrig shots synced to aDucks “power” was perfect, probably planned) — the motion started and all are onstage except ogre. this first piece was very strange, i dont know what it was but definatly too organized to be a “brap”. The only thing to focus on at this point was the beautiful green and purple lights, AMAZING video projections of sigils ala TOPY and war imagery and cevins fucked up dreads bobbing to the music. finally, Ogre amuzed the crowd with a new outfit that looked like an apocalyptic bird (needless to say i was pleased that the costume came off, bit by bit… down to nothing but tight jeans by the end of the show *sigh*) i dont exactly recall every song played but i know it closely resembled the dresden show.
highlights include: “hardset head” - never thought this song would be so fuckin intense live. the crowd went fucking apeshit. i dont dance at all, but it made even me get jiggy wit’ it, as a matter of fact i couldnt really stay still throughout the entire show. “warlock” strayed away from the original with a bit more emphasis on synth basslines but still just as chill inducing. i think it was during “warlock” that Ogre interacted with the video with a rifle in hand and a gas mask in the other while having a shootout with political enemies complete with a curser showing his target onscreen. just about started bawling when i heard the begining of “harsh stone white”. this song has always had an intensity about it made only better by seeing Ogre sprinkle “snow” all over the stage and the crowd and finishing each handful off, on beat, with a dramatic breath into the onlookers. “inquisition” sounded better then the first time i ever heard it. “smothered hope” ended the show (well, encore) and was impressive as hell. ogres last act was putting caution tape all over the stage and band as the sound kept building to an ear piercing, painful level.
of course there was the blood and goop but i must say i was dissappointed by the lack of stage props. i wanted to hear more from too dark park and last rites. i must admit, the new work they played wasnt all that impressive, seemed like a musical step back (as far as innovation goes) rather then a step forward (keep in mind i havent even heard the record yet) and i do realize my fiance may kill me for typing that. the overall feel of the show was definatly that of a re-introduction. you knew some things have changed in the SP camp, for better or for worse, and they didnt care… and THAT made this show a completly amazing experience. Ogre was smiling a hell of alot. i felt good for him.
i could go on forever about this stupid cunt that was trying to pick a fight with everyone or that you couldnt take pics or mosh ( i dont, but its fun to watch, lol) but i will spare you. if you have the chance to see this tour, do it. it is something that i wont soon forget.
yeah this review blows but i can only go off memory. i promise higher quality work in the future =-P

so, skinny puppy at the house of blues tonight. bein’ the lazy fuck that i am i still havent even listened to the new album yet… and we have had it a month. had plans on getting “elevated” and giving it a sping but that never happened. hmm, prob best to hear it live the first time around. i’ll post a review of the show prob sometime tomorrow.
so, i am about 75% finished with a song “naaktbegoren, again” and i should be posting a link to it sometime in the next week or so. yes, finally i will have a song for all to make fun of =-) i am a much better critic then i am a musician, but still i try. now, if only i can get my husband to pay some attention to something other then shadowbane then maybe we could get some more work out there.
its raining, very cool day. i plan on doing jack shit until i gotta pretty myself up and spend an evening on the town.

so, “g-pa slick” (as i call him), an old tumor-covered man who frequently visits people smoking outside my workplace, stopped by to share a joke:
“whats the best thing to come out of a penis?”
now, before i give the punchline i want to keep g-pa slick in the spotlight for a little bit longer. as mentioned before, he has numerous cancerous life-sucking vaccuums all over his wirey 5′5″ frame and a story to glorify each one, as though they were well earned trophies or children rather then threats. he was one of the first few people i met here to have that southern hospitalty (though originally from DC, i think) and actually talk to you as though he’d known you since you were “knee-high to a alligator ” –i dont know if hes just a dirty old man or simply trying to relate to a younger demographic but he has countless jokes about everything taboo, sex being his topic of choice. 90% bald and leather skinned, hes always wearing stylish geezer-shorts complete with the tube socks pulled up past the calves, cane in hand and bright blue eyes peeking over the top of large glasses too big for his head.
just wanted to secure a small space online for him before i forgot, ive come to look forward to his visits.
oh, the punchline

so, accuweather.com sez the “realfeel” for today is 113 degrees and summer has yet to even officially hit. if i am to die soon i wish it to be by something a bit more creative than heat exhaustion. people walk around with umbrellas here to avoid sunburn, even while shopping in the quarter. a good idea, yes, but i must admit how fun it could be to play dodge-the-melted-tourist-puddle on my walk home from work along with the current pedestrian sport of find-the-pool-of vomit-thats-not-hurricane-red (and lemme tell ya’, theres a fucking shitload of puke lining the streets of the french quarter).
– randy (my roomate) tells me Anne Rice has posted a $5,000 reward for info leading to the capture of the van full of homophobic assholes that gaybashed a local writer, just down the block from where we live. it amazes me that here and now there are still those so threatened by what they dont understand that they will lash out and beat (or even sometimes KILL) some innocent bloke trying to get a bite to eat. all for what? beliefs? hmm, i believe hate-groups-posing-as-family-preservists need to loosen the grip on my life. what do >>i<< do?!! oh yeah, vote, of course –much more effective then a fist, even if it may mean replacing one evil with another. this period of time, feels very dark, embarressing even.

aha, so, finally… my first post on my new addition to my already huge stack of things to do when i am bored. i have found that i have little time on my hands but quickly get over whatever i am doing to cure my boredom at the time. a.d.d. @ 25? it is possible i suppose.
sitting at work, hating my job, nothing to say and talking to people that dont want to talk to me. i dial 3-400 numbers a day… sometimes more. thats about 8000 people per month… i need a new profession. maybe a promotion lurks nearby. maybe i will have a huge creative period. maybe… what a waste of 5 letters. hmm, profound.
now i am bored.

Information: A new monthly theme of mp3s are published to complement Antigravity Magazine’s content, a companion of sorts to Antigravity. Like all music on TWX, I cannot guarantee that these songs will always be available due to the nature (?) of the Internet nor can I guarantee that every artist in Antigravity will have a song online that I can pull from.
I strongly support local alternative media and it just so happens that I can get a small bit of promotion for TWX while doing so. There is no payment involved with either party. The Witness Exchange and Antigravity are and will continue to be two seperate sources but will be working together somewhat to bring you the best in (mostly independant) national and local acts… and all because we enjoy doing it. Neither Antigravity or The Witness Exchange is responsible for the content on the others real-world and/or online publication… though if you like one you are sure to like the other
If you live in or are coming to the New Orleans area and like what you see in this theme you can find the actual FREE magazine in bars, laundromats, resturants and other dark corners scattered throughout the city. You can also visit the website but keep in mind that it is still being developed.

Various webcasts. Please visit the websites to show your support and buy some things. *to listen, click on icon next to station name, Winamp suggested*

brainwashed radio - music from the brainwashed hosted crew of artists (lpd, coil, etc) - low bitrate but worth the time.
cryosleep - “Most people who underwent cryosleep have reported that the mind seems to naturally retreat into a place of infinite tranquility, where the experience of Time itself is distorted in a subtle way.” Hmm, cheesey but appropriate for a deep ambient channel.
drone zone - sleepy time headphone bliss. just as good to pay attention to as it is to fill the silence in the background.
fails audioworkshop - failed to find a working website for this station. please contact me if you do. (excuse the pun)
immortal continuum - ebm for a pleasantly riveting time.
intelligentdancemusic.com - as it says, good long rotating playlists of very synthetics beats and treats. (Currently offline, should be back up soon)
kjhk 90.7 lawrence, ks - streaming, live, wonderful college radio from lawrence, ks. has a number of specialty programs from goth, idm, to idie rock. the very first webradio station on the web. no, really.
limbik frequencies - “Our mix of ambient, downtempo, ethereal, industrial, and intelligent techno, is an active exploration into deep and uncharted modes of existence. Some have dreams, some have nightmares, we play music…”
rand()% internet radio bot - take sound designers and musicians, throw an automated music making program at them and these are the results. occasionally annoying, always inspiring.
tormented radio - goth/industrial/ebm station from mpegradio.com.
the witness exchange - why yes, it is the original TWX winamp stream (m3u) of normal posts!
the witness exchange presents: antigravity radio - and of course, the m3u stream for the Anigravity Magazine companion.
if you have any suggested stations, info, questions or have problems with any specific link (or even a problem with it being on this blog) please contact me
