I’ve been a longtime reader of MefiMusic, a place where amatures post their tracks for criticism and general tearing-apart, and have occasionally been impressed by what I hear. Thus begins a new category simply titled mefi music.
First pick? How about
age.is.polis - ‘i am part of the economy’
- a very abrasive, short, simple yet addictive track by someone claiming to be from ‘the island’ that summons a bit of Negativland and old school post-industrial. Browse mefimusic for other tracks by this artist (I have yet to do so but I see at least 36 other songs up for grabs)

Disquiet has pointed out that the wonderful electronic musician and software contributor Monolake (aka Rober Henke) is giving out a free track every month, perfect for those that may be unaware of his unusual, thickly layered cuts that are often innovative enough and good enough to be called groundbreaking by some.
I don’t know if I am one of those listeners but I regularly do enjoy all releases from Monolake.
The current track is called Monlake Motion Blur and is a worthy listen for fans of idm-ish ambient sounds

ok, things are - finally- very likely to pick up around this place with the discovery of wordpress plugins that make things lovely for mobile devices (see prev entry), a plugin that allows for mobile wordpressing and the music crawler Seeqpod.
If you’ve been reading for awhile, you know I once used WebJay before it was sold to Yahoo and went under… well now i have something new and by far better.
to test things out, I present one of my fave tracks:

ok, having been a recent addition to the iPhone luckies I have since updated the blog to be iPhone friendly. Yeah, the flash stuff wont work but it loads fast as hell. The site will now automatically detect an iPhone and deliver a page that will be more user friendly for you.
Now… about those posts, eh?
